Reba McEntire – Did you know?
Let’s chat about one of our favorite artists of all time, Reba McEntire.
Did you know that the song “Fancy” is actually a cover song?
Even though its one of Reba’s signature songs hits, it’s actually a cover of the Bobbie Gentry song that was released in 1969.
The rendition that Reba McEntire made reached the top 10 list of the country charts in 1990 and to this day is one of her most iconic hits.
Her TV show almost had an entirely different name. That right there is hard for me to imagine because the Reba TV series has been such an incredible series for her.
The series original title, and her name, was originally meant to be Sally.
How crazy would that have been?
The producers didn’t change it until last minute.
There were a few other titles that were considered along with it. Soe of those titles are: Deep in the Heart, Family Planning and The Reba McEntire Show.
I could see it being called The Reba McEntire show.
Reba was actually offered a role in the movie, Titanic. She would have been in the role of the iconic Molly Brown in the film.
Reba McEntire was offered the role, but she had to turn it down because of her own tour dates. The role then went on to Kathy Bates.
Reba used to compete in barrel races at various rodeo competitions across the country throughout her childhood and college years.
Her family had their fair share of steer rope champions, her father was crowned world champion 3 separate times.
Reba went to college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and was planning on becoming an elementary school teacher just like her mother was.
