Morgan Wallen sure has had an interesting career up to this point. Morgan Cole Wallen is an American country music singer and songwriter. Born in Tennessee, he competed in the sixth season of The Voice, originally as a member of Usher’s team, but later as a member of Adam Levine’s team. After being eliminated in the playoffs of that season, he signed to Panacea Records, releasing his debut EP, Stand Alone, in 2015.
Morgan Wallen deftly navigated the gap separating Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt, developing a variation of bro-country that emphasized smooth R&B rhythms over arena-ready stomps. Wallen still sang plenty of songs about happy hours and “Whiskey Glasses” — the latter gave him his first solo number-one single in 2018 — but his romantic streak when combined with a sense of playfulness helped him break away from the pack in the late 2010s.
Several years after his successful 2014 run on the televised singing competition The Voice, he signed with Big Loud Records and started working with Florida Georgia Line producer Joey Moi on his 2018 debut, If I Know Me. By the time he released his second album, Dangerous: The Double Album, in January 2021, he was one of the biggest stars in contemporary country music.
