Blake Shelton Announces He’s Leaving ‘The Voice’

It was just announced that Blake Shelton is leaving the Voice. On Tuesday, NBC announced that this will be Blake Shelton’s final season on The Voice, and Chance the Rapper and former One Direction member Niall Horan will join as first-time coaches.

On Tuesday, Blake made the announcement that he will be leaving the singing competition show. He explained that he has been debating this for some time now.

Blake has been coaching on the NBC show for 12 years and says it has been an amazing ride. He is thanking all of the people who helped make the live show happen twice a week.

Shelton spoke highly of his wife, Gwen Stefani, who he met on the show; and of his “lifelong bonds” with host Carson Daly “and every single one my fellow coaches over the years.”

Shelton has been a mainstay since the show’s inception in 2011, with eight victories to his credit. He also trained 15 artists who have had their songs climb to the top of the iTunes Top Songs chart.

Chance the Rapper, on the other hand, expressed his joy at being able to join the NBC competition series. He added that he is looking forward to helping out other artists and giving them a chance to have a life-changing experience similar to his own.

Presently, you can see Shelton on Season 22 of “The Voice” next to other judges such as Stefani, Camila Cabello and John Legend.
