Blake Shelton might shed a few tears during the finale of ‘The Voice’ on Tuesday night. He decided to pen down his feelings before the live show.

This 23rd season of ‘The Voice’ marks his farewell, and the renowned country artist seems prepared. Frankly, he appears astonished to have journeyed this far.

“There’s a mix of emotions,” he revealed on his social media, accompanied by pictures of his nine victorious contestants and fellow coaches. “When we boarded the ship for Season 1, I think none of us had an inkling of what lay ahead.”

Here are some quick updates:

  • The grand finale of ‘The Voice’ is set to air at 9PM ET on NBC.
  • Shelton stands a chance to claim his 10th victory with either Grace West or Noivas.
  • Season 24 will see Reba McEntire stepping into his shoes in the fall.

Shelton shares, “These past 12 years have led to the formation of everlasting friendships and unforgettable memories. I’ve been privileged to mentor some truly gifted artists, nine of whom have achieved #TeamBlake victories (hoping for a tenth tonight?), and I’ve seen these artists mature incredibly through the show. My heartfelt gratitude to everyone… the team, the coaches, the participants, the supporters, and my spouse who have made these years truly special. Love you all!”

In his conversation with ExtraTV, Shelton expressed that the past 12 years have been a significant phase in his life, and he might not hold back his tears.

“But don’t get me wrong, they might be tears of happiness,” he joked.

“It probably won’t hit me until later, but I’ve got to say, when I was conducting the blind auditions and I pressed my button for the last time for Grace, the way I felt in that moment took me by surprise. So, who knows? I might just lose myself and cry.”

The finals will see Niall Horan’s team featuring Gina Miles, while Kelly Clarkson’s team has D.Smooth and Chance the Rapper’s team has Sorelle.

Don’t hold your breath for a final performance from Shelton. He has expressed his wish to relax and enjoy the show, though some of the special guests scheduled for the night might persuade him to perform. Word is that Gwen Stefani has a knack for persuasion!
