On April 5, 2020 the Academy of Country Music Awards were supposed to take place… But with the Coronavirus pandemic happening, the awards show was postponed. It’s now going to take place in September.
The good news is that the ACM put together a little concert for us. One that allows us to see our favorite artists perform from their homes.
I guess it’s better than nothing, right?
My favorite part personally was Carrie Underwood performing “Drinking Alone”, a single from the Cry Pretty album. She’s got a big glass of wine by her side (and I have too quite a few times throughout my quarantine as well)
“I’m sad we can’t be there together in person tonight, but I’m glad we can still find ways to be connected and to celebrate community and the healing power of music. So let’s continue to support each other and stay strong until we can be together again. But, right now we have to find things to do while we’re alone…together,”
Carrie said while reaching for her glass of wine.
and of course Carrie then sings an absolutely perfect performance of “Drinking Alone” and makes me feel 100 times better… because now I’m drinking with Carrie Underwood instead of just my dog!
