Before we get into the song I wanted to share something that someone said about the song… so you can see just how impactful it is.
I found this song less than a week ago. The song’s message alone was enough to bring me to tears, but I didn’t have a personal experience to attach it to. Then, just yesterday, a friend of mine passed away in a car accident. He was the kindest, most gentle person I have ever met. He was only 23 years old. Now this song is helping me come to terms with him no longer being here, and I can’t help but imagine that finding this song so close to his passing was for a reason, but it all belongs to the by and by after all. RIP Ashton Farley, I just hope you know how much you were loved and still are. Your early passing has made it easier to come to terms with my own eventual death as now I can look forward to seeing you again my friend.
Broken Halos Lyrics
Seen my share of broken halos
Folded wings that used to fly
They’ve all gone wherever they go
Broken halos that used to shine
Angels come down from the heavens
Just to help us on our way
Come to teach us, then they leave us
And they find some other soul to save
Seen my share of broken halos
Folded wings that used to fly
They’ve all gone wherever they go
Broken halos that used to shine
Broken halos that used to shine
Don’t go looking for the reasons
Don’t go asking Jesus why
We’re not meant to know the answers
They belong to the by and by
They belong to the by and by
Seen my share of broken halos
Folded wings that used to fly
They’ve all gone wherever they go
Broken halos that used to shine
Broken halos that used to shine
Broken halos that used to shine
Broken halos that used to shine
