On Friday Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson said his family was the victim of a drive-by shooting where 8-10 shots were fired from the road into his estate.
It was reported that one of the shots went through a bedroom window of the home where Willie’s son, John Luke Robertson, lives with his wife Mary Kate McEachern and their infant child. Luckily no one was hurt.
“We were pretty shook up,” Robertson said in a Sunday interview with USA TODAY Network. “It looks like they were just spraying bullets across my property.”
The property and houses are set back behind a fence and are located far off the road.
Robertson said that multiple witnesses saw the truck in which the suspects were in. The shots started firing at 2:33pm local time.
“It was broad daylight,”
Robertson said.
Willie believes that the suspects knew that they were shooting at his property….
“I’m 100% certain, but I don’t know why,” he said.
‘They were just spraying bullets across my property’
Many of the Robertson family are currently living at Willie and his wife, Korie’s, home during the coronavirus crisis. Sadie Robertson, their daughter, is one of them. Sadie had also starred on “Dancing with the Stars” and is there with her new husband Christian Huff.
“Nobody was outside at the time, but everybody had been out about five minutes before,” Robertson said. “I had just gone to the store when it happened.”
The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a white over brown or beige Ford F-250 with large aftermarket tires and rims.
The vehicle driver was described as a young white male in his teens or early 20s. Other occupants were in the vehicle, but a description isn’t available.
The vehicle was captured on a surveillance camera.
Anyone in the area at the time that may have seen the vehicle or have any information as to the identity of the suspects or the vehicle owner is asked to contact OPSO at 318-329-1200.
“I’ve been in close contact with the investigators,” Robertson said. “It seems local to me, but I can’t be sure.”
