Beyonce is generating a tremendous amount of excitement, she has recently announced the upcoming release of a complete country album in March. However, not everyone is enthusiastic about this idea.
In a recent interview, John Schneider, renowned for his role in Dukes of Hazzard and his country music career, cleverly likens the concept to a dog’s attempt to assert dominance in uncharted terrain.
During an interview with One America News Network, the actor and singer – known for his conservative views in recent years – expressed agreement with the host regarding a segment on the online controversy surrounding a Beyonce fan’s claim. The fan alleged that an Oklahoma radio station had denied playing Beyonce’s new country song, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” despite his specific request.
The station later clarified that the record company had not officially sent the song to country radio. According to Schneider’s segment on OAN, the release of a country song by Beyoncé is seen as an unwelcome intrusion by liberals into the realm of country music.
“The lefties in the entertainment industry just won’t leave any area alone, right? They just have to seize control over every aspect, don’t they?” the host of the segment asks in the video below.
“They’ve got to make their mark, just like a dog in a dog walk park,” Schneider replies, wryly grinning at his own analogy. “You know, every dog has to mark every tree, right? So that’s what’s going on here.”
In a Twitter excerpt, Schneider expresses the view that the influx of newcomers into the country genre differs from artists like Shania Twain who transitioned from country music to explore pop and other styles.
“I know a little something about country music,” the actor asserts.

During Super Bowl 58 on Sunday (Feb. 11), Beyoncé unveiled her highly-anticipated country album, Act II, in a Verizon commercial. The announcement was accompanied by the release of two captivating new songs, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.”
Act II is set for release on March 29.
The renowned pop superstar had previously unveiled a captivating country track called “Daddy Lessons” on her illustrious Lemonade album back in 2016. In a momentous display of talent, she graced the stage alongside the esteemed Chicks to deliver a stunning rendition of the song at the prestigious CMA Awards during that very same year.
The idea that country music is exclusively a conservative genre, with liberals now encroaching upon it, is not supported by historical evidence. Some of the most beloved and influential country artists of all time have been liberal leaning, including Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, the Chicks and more, while the younger generation of country singers is a more even mix of conservative and liberal points of view. I
n fact, country music has always been a reflection of the diverse voices and perspectives found in American society.
One of the reasons why country music has often been perceived as conservative is because of its emphasis on traditional values such as faith, family, and patriotism. However, these themes are not exclusive to one political ideology.
John Schneider portrayed the iconic role of Bo Duke on the popular TV series “The Dukes of Hazzard” that aired on CBS from 1979 to 1985. In addition to his acting career, he ventured into the realm of country music in 1981 with the release of his debut single, a remarkable cover of Elvis Presley’s timeless hit “It’s Now or Never,” which peaked at No. 4 on the charts.
The actor and singer went on to a run of No. 1 country hits that included “I’ve Been Around Enough to Know,” “Country Girls,” “What’s a Memory Like You (Doing in a Love Like This)” and “You’re the Last Thing I Needed Tonight.”
Schneider’s most recent release is a patriotic song titled “She’s Worth It,” which he calls “my Valentine’s Day card to the greatest country in the history of the world.”
