On Tuesday October 20, 2020 Garth Brooks joined Good Morning America to talk about the new album Fun and to announce the cover of “Shallow” with his wife Trisha Yearwood.
Garth said that the song “Shallow” will be one of the singles he sends to the country radio stations before the release of Fun on November 20. The song was originally from the 2018 movie A Star is Born – starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
Lady Gaga, Andrew Wyatt, Anthony Rossomando and Mark Ronson wrote the song “Shallow” specifically for the movie. The single topped the charts in more than 20 countries and took home the Oscar and Golden Globe for “Best Original Song.”

Brooks and Yearwood Have Performed ‘Shallow’ Before
The couple has performed the song before. On his Facebook Live series titled Inside Studio G, they performed it.
“It is officially going to be the single off the record coming up,” said Brooks on GMA. “And I think tomorrow night we’re actually going to let everybody hear — not all of it — a snippet of it for the first time. So we’re really excited.”
