We finally have some good news about Kay Robertson, the matriarch of the Duck Dynasty family.
As we reported back in June, the 77-year-old suffered some health issues after her husband of more than 60 years, Phil Robertson, died in May after battling Alzheimer’s disease.
“Kay is not in the best of health,” said her son Willie Robertson at the time. “We’re trying to help her out as much as we can.”
Adding to her struggles with depression, Kay also experienced a fall that led to an infection, surgery, and an extended hospital stay. As a result, she was unable to attend the June 1 premiere party for Duck Dynasty: The Revival in her hometown of Monroe, Louisiana.
Since then, fans have been praying for Kay. Now, there is a new update shared in this week’s episode of the family’s Unashamed podcast.
“She’s doing amazing,” said her son Al Robertson. “She seems to have turned a corner and is doing really good.”
The “Duck Dynasty” Clan Had a Great Thanksgiving
Al and Jase Robertson said on the podcast that Kay attended Thanksgiving with the family “in full regalia.”
Al added, “She was excited, happy.”
While it is uncertain if this moment will appear in an upcoming episode of Duck Dynasty: The Revival, there is more positive news to share.
The boys added that they’re “super excited” that Kay is getting ready to move into her own space. This comes after months of living in a health facility and staying with various family members.
“And thank you for the prayers,” said Al.
The Rumors of Miss Kay’s Death Have Been Exaggerated
As Kay has gone through numerous health issues, rumors that the Duck Dynasty matriarch has been close to death are not true.
“Contrary to Internet reports that have her on her deathbed on a regular occasion and Jason and Willie hugged in tearful embraces,” Al joked.
Even Kay herself has had to chime in, humorously telling the Duck Call Room podcast that she’s “tired of being dead.”
