Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock to Be Wed this Weekend

The two were spotted on Nashville on Tuesday, October 15th, securing their marriage license and since the validity of a marriage license is only 30 days, wedding bells are just around the corner for these two. Fans also confirmed the date with Save the Date invites for this Sunday, the 20th of October.

Clarkson and Blackstock met back in 2006 at the 41st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Blackstock as we all know is the manager of Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire’s stepson. But Blackstock was still married with two children at that time. Clarkson admitted to be attracted to Blackstock immediately and she felt that they had a connection. But she was disappointed when she knew that he was already married.

Later that year, Clarkson’s “Can I Have a Kiss” song came out saying that this song was about wanting someone who was off-limits. She also said, “girlfriends are speed bumps, wives are stop-signs…but I don’t live by that”. This was according to her interview with Much Music.

Another of her song, “Maybe” was about Blackstock and not about her ex, Graham Collin which shocked everyone. She personally admitted this to a fan while on the Honda Civic Tour with Maroon 5. The lyrics go, “I just want to be loved by you and I won’t stop”. No one is blaming Clarkson for Blackstock’s divorce in 2011 but the song brought about speculations. A few months after the divorce, the two officially announced that they were a couple and got engaged afterwhich.

After they got engaged back in December of 2012, the original plan for the wedding was to be grandiose scheduled to be at the end of this month. But recently, Clarkson has admitted they will just elope instead of a big wedding due to the overwhelming preparations that she has to endure with all the touring and preps for her Christmas album.

And speaking of Clarkson’s Christmas album, she will also be having her very first Christmas special entitled “Kelly Clarkson’s Christmas Tale”. No wonder, they chose this weekend because of their jam packed schedule. There are no specifications on what the show is about yet but for those who are excited to know about it, they can attend the taping on the 30th of October at the Venetian on Las Vegas. Tickets are sold at the official Venetian website.

Although, Clarkson is over worked by the wedding preparations, her will to marry Blackstock is of no question. “Brandon’s totally the one … I’ve never been truly loved like I am right now”, Clarkson tells the People magazine. Many changes have been made in this wedding, but now it seems that the couple has finally made their decision.

The wedding will be at Nashville, Tennessee. Blake Shelton is said to be officiating and performing at the ceremony and to say that this will be an all-start country artist event is undermining. We can’t wait to see the footages of the country’s wedding of the year.
