Phil and Kay Robertson, the beloved patriarch and matriarch of the “Duck Dynasty” family, have recently relocated from their longtime residence in Monroe, Louisiana, due to ongoing health challenges. Phil, 78, has been contending with a blood disorder and early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, leading to multiple back surgeries and mini-strokes that have significantly impacted his well-being.

In a recent episode of the “Unashamed” podcast, their sons, Jase and Al Robertson, provided an update on their parents’ situation. Jase mentioned that Phil had undergone his sixth or seventh back procedure, noting that recovery has become increasingly arduous, with lingering mental fog and occasional unusual behavior post-surgery. Al added that while Phil shows improvement over time, each procedure seems to slightly diminish his mental acuity.
To better support their parents, the Robertson family decided to move Phil and Kay closer to town, facilitating easier access to care and family assistance. Jase observed that his parents appear to embrace this transition, understanding it’s part of passing down their legacy. He acknowledged the absence of a cure for Phil’s condition but expressed faith in divine intervention, while also recognizing the current medical realities.
Al Robertson shared that despite Phil’s health adversities, he remains motivated by his role in caring for Kay, especially after her own health issues last year. This mutual caregiving underscores their nearly 60-year partnership, with each drawing strength from supporting the other.

The move from their cherished 2,400-square-foot home on a 7-acre property, familiar to fans from “Duck Dynasty” episodes, marks a significant change for Phil and Kay. While the exact duration of their residence there is unclear, the relocation signifies a new chapter as they prioritize health and family support.
