On Sunday, his daughter-in-law Korie Robertson announced his passing on Facebook, writing:

“Today, we celebrate that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord. He often reminded us of the words of Paul: ‘You do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.’

“We are deeply thankful for the love and prayers from so many whose lives were touched by Phil’s bold faith, his grace-filled testimony, and his unwavering mission to share the Good News of Jesus. We are grateful for his time here on earth and are committed to continuing his legacy of love for God and others—until we meet again.”
