The 2020 ACM Awards Are Moving to Nashville!

What a time to be alive, right? For the first time in history, the Academy of Country Music Awards will be held in Nashville.

According to The Tennesseean, the ACM 2020 awards will be broadcast from three venues in Nashville. They will take place between The Ryman Auditorium, Bluebird Cafe, and Grand Ole Opry House on September 16, 2020.

“Being in Music City allows us to honor a rich legacy at the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium and Bluebird Cafe,” ACM CEO Damon Whiteside said during a press conference on Monday, April 27.

Originally the show was scheduled for Las Vegas on April 5, but it’s been postponed just like everything else because of the Coronavirus.

“The ACM Awards is a tentpole event for our Country Music industry, and the Academy of Country Music and dick clark productions went to great lengths to find a safe solution for the show to go on so that we can honor our artist community,” ACM CEO Damon Whiteside said in a statement released on Sunday (March 15). “This decision involved many partners, stakeholders and the industry who we have been in constant conversations with over the past several days as the situation has developed. We look forward to identifying a future date that we can celebrate with our Country community safely.”

The World Health Organization declared the Coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic on March 11 and President Trump announced a national state of emergency on March 13, 2020.

That means one of our favorite events of the year was postponed… but you already knew that.

Who Is Hosting the ACM?

Keith Urban, the reigning ACM Entertainer of the year, will be hosting. The day of the announcement, Urban released his new song, “God Whispered Your Name”… listen to that below:
