With no real surprise to many people who have been following country music throughout 2019, some of these country singers made some serious money in 2019. Forbes’ list revealed a little bit more about who truly made the money in 2019.
Country music as a genre grew once again in 2019 and one of the biggest reasons was the young artist, Lil Nas X, who ended up netting $14 million in his first year on the list. He did this largely through the song, Old Town Road, which you can listen to below.
Lil Nas X brought a lot of attention to country music and we love him for it!
Although some of the highest earnings went to some of the artists who have been around for years, some of them over a decade. It’s no surprise that people like Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton and Eric Church made off well in 2019.
One interesting thing we came across is that everyone who made the Forbes’ Top 10 brought in over $20 Million this year! How crazy is that?
Aside from Shania Twain, who was #7 on the list, the other 9 artists were all men.
Of the top 20 you’ll see legends such as George Strait, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks.
Forbes’ list is based on the estimated pretax income of these artists. The estimates were based around figures from Nielsen Music, Pollstar Pro and interviews with some of the members of the industry.
