Country superstar Jason Aldean was born Jason Aldine Williams on February 28, 1977, in Macon, Georgia. He continued to live with his mom, Debbie, after his parents split when he was 3, and spent summers with his dad, Barry, in Florida.
Aldean worked hard at his musical talents at an early age. He made his first public appearance as a singer at the age of 14. In high school he was a star baseball player, even getting attention from college teams. However, instead of accepting an athletic scholarship, he pursued music after high school.

Aldean’s dad worked as his booking agent and helped Jason land gigs in bars and other small venues all throughout the Southeast. When he signed with Warner-Chapell Publishing, this led to moving to Nashville in 1998. When that didn’t pan out, he signed another contract with Capitol Records Nashville but failed to produce an album with them too.
In 2003, Jason was close to abandoning his dream. It was then that he caught the attention of Lawrence Mathis, a talent scout. He brought the independent label Broken Bow into the mix. At this point Aldean put out a self-titled album for the label. This led to his first single “Hicktown” breaking into the Billboard country Top 10 in 2005. After this, the follow-up single “Why” took the number 1 spot.
His second album, Relentless (2007) didn’t fulfill the high expectations that had been set, but his album Wide Open in 2009 really led to more number 1 hits.
